Attorney Kathleen Neary Maxham practices in the areas of estate planning, probate, estate and trust administration, conservatorships, guardianships and resolution of probate disputes.

Kate, a retired probate judge, brings unparalleled experience and problem-solving strategies to bear on even the most complex of issues.

Kate has over 25 years of experience working in the Fairfield Probate Court, initially as a staff attorney and then as Judge. Her experience is enormously valuable to her clients. With deep knowledge of Probate Law and keen insight into family dynamics, Kate provides objective and practical guidance to help families resolve their conflicts expeditiously and cost effectively.  She serves as a mediator to help families resolve disputes outside of court.

She is an active member of the Fairfield community having served as Vice Chairman of Conservation Commission, Historic District Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals and Director of Wakeman Memorial Association, Inc. She spent 5 years on the Executive Committee for the Connecticut Probate Assembly

She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Quinnipiac University School of Law, a member of the Probate Rules Advisory Committee, a board member of Southwestern Connecticut Agency on Aging.  She and is Vice Chairman of Oak Lawn Cemetery Association, Inc. and is a member of the Connecticut and Greater Bridgeport Bar Associations.  She is an active member of the Fairfield CERT team.

Kate is a graduate of Rosemont College, Quinnipiac University School of Law, and the Quinnipiac University School of Law Mediation Skills Training-Center for Dispute Resolution. Kate lives in Fairfield with her husband David.
